Like most people, I am a very busy person. After years of dealing with family life and my work, I had lost one of my most precious treasures: my health. I was focusing on everything but myself. In addition, when I turned forty I had to get my head around the fact that my doctor had prescribed me medication for high cholesterol. To top it off, I was suffering from injuries that prevented me from leading a normal life.
August 2nd, 2014, was a cornerstone of my new take on life. I stepped foot into a fitness centre and was blessed to meet wonderful people, including a trainer that presented me with choices that matched the objectives I had set for myself. I was determined to take charge once and for all. I was sick of never wanting to take part in activities with my family, I was always tired, and I had a hard time getting through the end of the work week. I began a program to transform my body with the help of qualified people that were able to provide me with answers, meet my needs, and simply encourage me. With my history of chronic knee, back, neck, and shoulder injuries, I was at a very high risk of getting hurt and this worried me a lot; but with the precious advice and programs of my trainer, I was able to successfully meet these challenges.
Today, with permission from my doctor, I stopped taking my cholesterol medication, as my condition is now stable. I have integrated exercise into my routine, and I regularly go on bike rides with my husband and daugthers. My quality of life has greatly improved, and I am incredibly grateful to the people that supported me in my quest. I also feel proud of myself. My decision to take action has truly brought positive and long-lasting changes into my life. I have now lost 34 pounds of fat, but most importantly, I once again live a healthy lifestyle. Maybe that’s what being in incredible shape is all about.
