Who said burgers can’t be healthy? Here is the perfect recipe to satisfy all burger lovers! With a little Asian “twist”, this delicious recipe cannot be compared with the traditional one! On top of adding hoisin sauce in the burger, with some coleslaw, it will create the perfect mix to satisfy your taste buds.

Ingredients
Asian coleslaw
250 ml (1 cup) green cabbage, grated
250 ml (1 cup) red cabbage, grated
10 ml (2 teaspoons) olive oil
10 ml (2 teaspoons) rice vinegar
5 ml (1 teaspoon) honey
Juice from a lime
Salt and pepper, to taste
Thai burger
1 pound (454 g) extra-lean ground turkey
½ onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
125 ml (½ cup) carrots, grated
15 ml (1 tablespoon) red curry paste
15 ml (1 tablespoon) fish sauce
1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
4 SMALL multigrain hamburger buns
20 ml (4 teaspoons) hoisin sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the coleslaw. Add salt and pepper, and allow to sit in the fridge for about 20 minutes.
- Preheat the barbecue to mid-high.
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the Thai burgers, except for the hoisin sauce and hamburger buns. Add salt and pepper, and make four equal patties.
- Cook on the barbecue for 5-8 minutes on each side.
- At the end of the cooking time, heat the burger buns on the barbecue.
- To garnish your hamburgers, add coleslaw and 5 ml of hoisin sauce on each patty.
