New Year’s Resolution: Zero Diet

December 22, 2016 - By Nautilus Plus

Temps de lecture 2 minutes

In January, many people pledge to take charge of their life and go on a diet. My resolution this year is to help you avoid the pitfalls of dieting by challenging you to adopt the Zero Diet mindset.

Submitting your body to dietary restrictions in order to achieve short-term objectives tends to result in a downward spiral that is detrimental on the long term. These restrictions give rise to a lot of stress, guilt, and frustration, which are further aggravated in social settings where no alternatives are available to comply with these restrictions.

The best strategy to achieve good physical and mental health is to find balance between the quantity and quality of the food you eat. It is not recommended to go on a restrictive diet that rules out certain foods.

Now, some of you may feel that not being on a diet is a form of complacency, and the lack of clear rules on what to eat may seem quite confusing at first. How could you possibly be in control if you are free to eat anything you want?

If you’re asking yourself this question, I recommend you consult a nutritionist. Through a weekly follow-up, your nutritionist will guide you through the pitfalls of diets. Following an initial assessment, she will design a non-restrictive strategy to help you reach your objectives. You will also gain basic knowledge on nutrition and get tools to help you reach your objectives and maintain them on the long term.

This year, don’t waste your time and motivation on unsustainable miracle diets. As a first investment in your long-term health, start with a personalized follow-up with a nutritionist!

 Start the year strong!
