Per\u00e7u parfois comme peu noble et potentiellement incommodant<strong>, l\u2019intestin joue pourtant un r\u00f4le primordial dans la sant\u00e9 physique et psychologique<\/strong>. Ses sautes d\u2019humeur (les diff\u00e9rents inconforts qu\u2019il peut causer) influencent notre qualit\u00e9 de vie, mais on en parle peu. D\u00e9mystifions le syndrome du c\u00f4lon irritable ou SCI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>\u00abD\u00e9tabouiser\u00bb les troubles de l\u2019intestins<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Moins pr\u00e9valents et connus que les maladies cardiovasculaires ou les cancers, il existe pr\u00e8s d\u2019une vingtaine de troubles de l\u2019intestin. Parmi ceux-ci, <strong>le syndrome du c\u00f4lon irritable (SCI) repr\u00e9sente l\u2019un des plus commun. Au Canada, 5 millions de personnes en souffrent et environ 120&nbsp;000 nouveaux cas se d\u00e9veloppent chaque ann\u00e9e.<\/strong> Le SCI peut nuire consid\u00e9rablement \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 de vie des personnes atteintes. Malgr\u00e9 cela, moins de la moiti\u00e9 d\u2019entre elles vont requ\u00e9rir l\u2019aide de professionnels de la sant\u00e9.&nbsp;La banalisation des sympt\u00f4mes ou encore la g\u00eane d\u2019en parler contribuent probablement \u00e0 ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne. Pourtant, les personnes atteintes du SCI m\u00e9ritent une prise en charge ad\u00e9quate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Le SCI n\u2019emb\u00eate pas que les personnes atteintes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Les manifestations du SCI sont vari\u00e9es et incommodantes&nbsp;: ballonnements, douleurs abdominales, diarrh\u00e9e et\/ou constipation, flatulences, sensibilit\u00e9 intestinale, etc.. Il est toutefois rassurant de savoir que le SCI est une maladie b\u00e9nigne qui n\u2019augmente pas le risque de cancer ou d\u2019autres maladies plus graves. Les causes de ce syndrome restent \u00e0 confirmer, mais l\u2019alimentation et les facteurs \u00e9motionnels (comme le stress) semblent impliqu\u00e9s. &nbsp;<strong>Les changements d\u2019habitudes de vie, surtout d\u2019habitudes alimentaires, repr\u00e9sentent la meilleure avenue pour traiter le SCI<\/strong>, sans garantir une gu\u00e9rison compl\u00e8te. Quelques m\u00e9dicaments et produits naturels peuvent \u00e9galement apaiser certains sympt\u00f4mes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Apaiser les sautes d\u2019humeurs de son 2<sup>e<\/sup> cerveau<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parmi les traitements disponibles \u00e0 ce jour, adopter une alimentation faible en FODMAP repr\u00e9sente la meilleure option.<\/strong> Les \u00ab FODquoi \u00bb? Ce sont une famille de petits sucres pr\u00e9sents dans les aliments. Une fois dig\u00e9r\u00e9s par les bact\u00e9ries dans l\u2019intestin, les FODMAP peuvent irriter le tube digestif et causer les inconforts associ\u00e9s. Le principe de cette alimentation consiste \u00e0 r\u00e9duire au minimum la consommation d\u2019aliments riches en FODMAP et \u00e0 favoriser ceux faibles en FODMAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exemples d&rsquo;aliments riches en FODMAP (r\u00e9duire leur consommation):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>pains et c\u00e9r\u00e9ales \u00e0 base de bl\u00e9; <\/li><li>ail;<\/li><li>oignon et autres l\u00e9gumes;<\/li><li>fruits du verger; <\/li><li>l\u00e9gumineuses; <\/li><li>et certains produits laitiers.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exemples d&rsquo;aliments faibles en FODMAP (aliments \u00e0 favoriser) :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>riz; <\/li><li>quinoa; <\/li><li>fraises;<\/li><li>raisins;<\/li><li>concombre;<\/li><li>carotte;<\/li><li>fromages \u00e0 p\u00e2te ferme;<\/li><li>\u0153ufs et viandes.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3>Avis important&nbsp;: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette fa\u00e7on de manger peut s\u2019av\u00e9rer complexe et sembler monotone.
