Results influence motivation. Whether you train at home or at a fitness center, you need the proper tools to generate effective results, a precise program prescribed by a fitness professional, and most of all, you need diligence to get the expected results. Here are three tips picked from all the existing ones.
Build a mini gym
Even though there is a wide variety of exercises that can be done using only your body, you still need to get a minimum of basic accessories. Dumbbells (at least two pairs), an exercise ball, a mat (if you are on a hard surface), an elastic band, exercise DVDs, etc. These tools will help you evolve in your training, which will enable you to reach your results faster and avoid getting bored from always doing the same exercises. Delimit an area of your home that will be dedicated to working out. Keep this area clean and inviting. Before working out becomes part of your life, you can leave your accessories somewhere they can be seen as well as your training schedule, so that you don’t forget to train!
Meet with a personal trainer once a month
Whether you decide to train at the gym or at home, you need to get an assessment of your physical condition and body composition, and have a plan specifically made in function of your objectives. A kinesiologist can provide you with a workout plan suited to the accessories you have purchased. He will tell you exactly what you current condition is, and will present you with a training structure that will tell you exactly what to do for each of your sessions.
Meet with your personal trainer each month to modify your program according to your improvements and ensure that you keep working toward your objectives. This monthly meeting can encourage you to be more diligent between your appointments, and incite you to implement your trainer’s advice. I also invite you to get an assessment of your physical condition to be better able to follow your evolution.
Diligence
One thing is for sure, your trainer can provide you with workouts to be performed at home with simple accessories, but you have to actually do it! Schedule specific times of the week in your agenda that will be dedicated to working out. It can be tempting to do a host of other activities (washing clothes, cleaning up the house, preparing meals, etc.), so it will be important to stick to these scheduled moments without even thinking about it.
Have a great workout!
